Architectural Visualization

Saint Louis Design Alliance’s experienced staff has offered its clients the ability to explore different aspects of the building design process through the latest technology in computer 3D Animation and Renderings. Depending on the complexity of the project, STLDA offers visually advanced Architectural Visualization techniques to its clients and advises each client on the correct 3D animation and rendering options suitable for that specific project. Clients often use these animations to market and advertise on their web sites, making it easy to take a virtual tour of the environment without being on site.

Below are some of STLDA’s latest designs. Our firm combines the latest CAD technology with Animations and Photo Realistic Renderings which are prepared using Autodesk 3D-Studio Max, while the volumetric studies and sketchy renderings are made in Google Sketch-Up.

This is a renovation of an existing apartment building in the heart of University City, MO. The owner requested a computer animation for his marketing campaign.  Tenants were able to virtually view the entire apartment during the design phase. Because of the 3D animation, all of the apartments were rented prior to the completion of the project.

Axonometric views are excellent tools to visualize residential projects.  StLDA created an axonometric view and animation from the 3D model giving the owner and potential tenant an idea of the spaces.

Several still images were created once the 3D model was complete.

Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church needed  sanctuary seating for 2200 congregants in a new facility. During the design phase StLDA advised the congregation to produce a 3D animation for the fund raising campaign.

The 3D visualization enabled the congregation to understand the flow of the building design within this complex project.

The Church participated in the the video production by providing the music that best fit their worship style.

Potential tenants were allowed to virtually walk through  another apartment building renovation in University City, MO. prior to the completion of the renovation. The owner added this animation and photorealistic renderings to his website and was able to procure tenants long before the apartments were ready for occupancy.

As with any church project, StLDA always suggests the creation of an animation to the congregation. It has been proven to be a great motivational tool to the congregation throughout the building process.

StLDA interior design team incorporated the interior finishes and light fixtures to the animation.

The site fly-around was included in the  introduction to the animation enabling viewers to capture the complete size of the property.

Large apartment buildings are often complex and require a long period of time for the design and build. In this case, the developer needed realistic renderings and animation in order to begin the marketing process.

StLDA produced an extensive and detailed animation of the building and each apartment unit type.

As with any animation produced by StLDA, the owner was pleased with the results of  the animation and renderings.

  Volumetric Study

[ Community Church ]

Here is an example of a Volumetric Study. It's a simple rendering with the purpose of showing the client the mass and building materials suggested for the project.
This makes it possible for the client to have a clear idea of the architect's design intentions at an early stage of the project.

Usually volumetric studies are monochromatic renderings showing only the building without landscaping.

  Sketch Rendering

[ Grace Evangelical Free Church ]

StLDA works with any owner's budget for presentation materials. A sketch rendering is a great option for a medium to large size projects, when a realistic view of the interior and exterior materials are not critical.

In a Sketch Rendering, StLDA shows the site that surrounds the building, along with the colors and materials being used.

  Photorealistic Rendering

[ Cape First Retreat Center ]

When a realistic visualization of the interior and exterior materials is critical, photorealistic renderings are produced.

With the latest technology on the market, StLDA gives the owner/developer a clear view of the building being completed as well as the landscaping design.

Photorealistic renderings and animation are made with special attention to detail. Exterior and interior finishes are coordinated with the interior designer. Furniture and light fixtures are modeled to represent the final product.
